Fulbright Malaysian Professional Exchange Program Hispanic College Scholarships


The Hispanic College Scholarships purpose of the grant is to enable Malaysia's mid-career professionals in public or private sectors to broaden their experience through consultations, internships, participation in seminars, workshops and other professional enrichment programs in relevant organizations in the United States for a period of three to six months. Hispanic College Scholarships Grant is intended for practitioners rather than academics, administrators, managers of the organization / association / services, journalists, and lawyers are encouraged to apply for these grants.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be/have:

A Malaysian citizen;
A master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in the field of the proposed program. For professionals and artists outside academe, recognize professionals standing and substantial professionals accomplishment is expected;
A minimum of five years working experience in the related field. Hold a managerial position in a government organization or the private sector and demonstrate a potential for higher responsibilities;
Proficiency in English appropriate to the proposed lecturing or research project tobe carried out in the United States;
Be willing to share their knowledge of Malaysia with social, civic and other groups while in the United States;
Sound physical and mental health.

In addition applicants should note that the following conditions affecting review and selection of candidates :

Hispanic College Scholarships Applicants will be considered without regard to race, religion, sex,age and/ or phyiscal impairment.
Preference is given to those without recent experience in the United States.
Applicants should be representative and responsible citizens who can contribute to a full and fair picture of the culture of Malaysia and thereby contribute to understanding between the people of the United State and Malaysia. You should also demonstrate the cross-cultural sensitivity and flexibility needed to adjust successfully to life in the United States.

Applicants are requested to note some of the most frequent application problems:

Lack of an adequate research proposal. This is the single most common weakness of applications and the one that reflects most seriously on the applicant’s prospects for placement. Applicants must have a well-thought-out plan for research that demonstrates knowledge of the field in general, as well as scientific methods for approaching the subject and knowledge of sources of data in the United States.
Selection of a proposed host institution without providing rationale or copies of correspondence or not mentioning any preference for affiliation.
Lack of knowledge of English or of a plan to acquire a working level of English before beginning the grant.
Lack of a curriculum vitae and list of publications.
Proposing visits to numerous institutions.
Proposing a nonacademic host institution without including a clear justification with sufficient details.

PhD Call Hispanic College Scholarships for Applications


The Doctoral Hispanic College Scholarships Program in Political Theory is interdisciplinary, and covers four main areas of study: philosophy (ethics and applied philosophy, political and social philosophy, and issues in contemporary philosophy), political theory (ethics of international relations and human rights theories), law (international law, humanitarian law, and international criminal law), and politics and economics (international political economy, development policies, sustainability theories, international relations, and theories of globalization).

Hispanic College Scholarships Approximately twenty faculty members, including both Italian professors and foreign visiting professors, currently teach on the program, and there are more than thirty doctoral students, half of which are foreign. The program thus has a strongly international character.

Hispanic College Scholarships Applicants are generally expected to have majored in an area of the social sciences, humanities, or philosophy, although those with degrees in other disciplines may also be considered on the basis of their curricula vitae and research proposals. Successful applicants will begin the program in the Fall semester of 2011, by following three semesters of taught courses. Each semester lasts approximately three months, and students will have approximately 6-10 hours of classes per week during these three semesters. All courses are taught in English.

EFINTD Junior Fellowships Hispanic College Scholarships


The Fellowship Hispanic College Scholarships Program provides two scholarships for young researchers who have recently started their doctoral and experienced researchers willing to have completed a broad research programs EFINTD.
provides funding for three fellowships each year to outstanding young postdoctoral scholars from the African sub-Saharan Africa to carry out applied research in African research institutions.

• focuses on translational or operational research questions. Proposals are welcome that address the public health issues related to preventing and treating neglected communicable tropical diseases, including those from social scientists, such as medical anthropologists, as well as from biomedical researchers.
• draws on collaboration between African and European research institutions, with the Fellow determining with which European institution he/she proposes to collaborate and on what research issues and topics.
• provides for additional support to the Fellows beyond salary, travel and research costs through mentorship from leading African and non-African scientists, networking opportunities and training in key career skills such as proposal writing and getting work published.

Edward T. Conroy Memorial Hispanic College Scholarships


The Conroy Hispanic College Scholarships is one of the many programs administered by the Maryland Higher Education Commission’s Office of Student Financial Assistance.The children and spouses of fallen soldiers and public safety employees attending a Maryland postsecondary institution can apply for the Edward T. Conroy Memorial Hispanic College Scholarships. The total dollar amount of all State scholarship awards may not exceed your cost of attendance, as determined by your school’s financial aid office, or $ 19,000, whichever is less. Awards to the sons, daughters or spouses of victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks may not exceed $ 19,000 when combined with any other Hispanic College Scholarships received by a student based on the student’s status as a child or spouse of a victim of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
